How do I add the bot to my Discord server?

Click Add Enum Bot to Discord, pick your server in the Discord authorize screen, and grant it the channel permissions it asks for (View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links - nothing more). Then run /embed <your-server-address> in the channel you want the status tile in. The first embed posts immediately and starts self-updating.

How is this different from a player-count counter bot?

Counter bots rename a voice channel to show a single number. Enum Bot posts a full status embed - players, map, connect string, online/offline state, and an embedded 24h history chart - that updates in place, and it backs onto a real platform: a web console with watchlists, downtime receipts, and cross-region consensus before a server is ever called offline. The Discord embed is the surface; the tracking underneath it is the product.

How often does the embed update, and what if it stops?

Around every 45 seconds per server, edited in place. If the bot loses access to the channel or the message, it surfaces a Check button in-channel instead of silently dying - open the channel, follow the prompt, and the embed re-arms on recovery.

Does it read my members' messages?

Accepted Answer

No. The bot only reads the channel and permission metadata it needs to post and edit embeds; it never consumes message content. The querier talks to game servers, not to your members.
